Our brand new organic hemp candles are the result of 21 months of product development.
When we set out on our candle-making journey, our goal was to make the best candle possible, without compromise: organic, vegan-friendly, utilising hemp for the wicks, and with the most sustainable choice of waxes.
Most cheaper candles (and some expensive ones) opt for paraffin wax, which is a petroleum by-product of crude oil. Our research led to one clear winner - rapeseed wax.
Why Rapeseed Wax?
In the summer months rapeseed plants cover many British fields in a brilliant carpet of yellow. Rapeseed has been grown in the UK & Europe for hundreds of years as animal feed, for edible vegetable oils, and also biodiesel.
Rapeseed helps protect and improve the soil for future crops, without issues of intensive farming, deforestation or GMO presence.
However, petroleum based paraffin candles are derived from crude oil (a non-renewable resource) and contain toxic air agents like toluene, benzene and formaldehyde.
Rapeseed provides a pure wax that burns cleanly, for a long time, with excellent scent retention
Low carbon footprint - rapeseed is grown in UK & Europe
No harmful toxins are released (unlike with paraffin)
Non-hazardous for people or the planet
Bees love rapeseed

Great hot and cold throw properties (smells great when lit and unlit)
Burns at a low temperature, allowing the aroma to linger for longer

Special Care For A Special Candle
Our candles are all hand-crafted with a completely unique formula, so some special care must be taken to get the most from them...
Always trim the wick to approximately 0.5cm before lighting each time
Do not move the candle when lit
Burn for no longer than 4 hours at a time
Ensure the wicks do not come close together
Do not leave the candle unattended
